ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's an organization that helps women-owned businesses grow, and it's now established a permanent presence in St. Louis.

The Women's Business Development Center is headquartered in Chicago, but spokesperson Cynthia Johnson says they've now opened their first St. Louis office at the Grace Hill Women's business center.

“We collaborate with them. They are already providing services, and we work together to make sure that diverse earns have the access to information, education, and contacts that will eventually lead to contracts,” she says.

In order to qualify for membership, a business must be at least 51-percent female owned, be primarily run by women, and have adequate experience in the field for which the business provides products and/or services.
