The kids are back in school.  This is truly the most wonderful time of the year, second to only when the kids leave the house for the last time as adults.

For people like me who work nights, you’ll have a lot of freedom during the day. Parents don’t always know what to do with the liberating sound of a quiet house.  It’s almost like you’re doing something wrong, but it feels so fright.

What will you do with your free time?  Here are a few suggestions:

** Clear out the DVR and delete all the bad photos on your smart phone
** Finally pick a show on Netfilx to enjoy instead of just endlessly scrolling through the menu
** Naps.  Lots of them
** pick up an extra hobby that doesn’t involve entertaining the kids
** Read more – and go to a library to find a new author to enjoy
** Go for a walk. Download a podcast, put in your earbuds and breath some fresh air
** Get some extra practice at the range and improve your shooting skills
** Write a letter to someone you care about
** Finally get rid of all the junk in your home that you don’t need.
** Learn a few new dad jokes… like this one found on the internet: “Why did the coffee file a police report?  Because It got mugged!”
